
Visual and Plastic Artist, Curator and Integrated Researcher at ICNOVA - CM&A at FCSHUNL. PhD in Communication Sciences, with a specialty in Communication and Arts, from FCSHUNL. Master's Degree in Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art, with a Phenomenological and Hermeneutic focus from FLUL. Degree in Painting from FCBAM and in Fine Arts from FBA-UL. Main areas of interest and research: ARTS and HUMANITIES. In her artistic practice, she has held more than 160 group/individual exhibitions in Painting/Sculpture/Installation/Photography/Video. She has represented Portugal abroad three times. As a researcher, she has been carrying out experimental work in Cinema/Video since 2002 and has given numerous national and international lectures. She researches and publishes in the areas of Philosophy of Art, Aesthetics, Cinema, Philosophy of Communication and Geophilosophy. She is a member of the Scientific Committees of the International Journal “Cinema & Territory” and “Espaço Random”, of the University of Madeira. She was a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Humanities Conference, during the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in 2021, which was held at FCG, in Lisbon, with the R&D of her research. He took part in the Portugal/France Saison Croisée 2022. Presented the book ROMY CASTRO “LA TERRE COMME ÉVÉNEMENT II”, at the University of Madeira, in Paris and at Culturgest, Lisbon 2023/24. Represented in numerous institutional/private collections in Portugal and abroad.
